Teo Balev

Teo oversees the strategic planning, operations and growth initiatives of the Colonial Insurance Services. He also assists large trucking fleets with their complex insurance needs.

Teo is a certified insurance counselor (CIC), Transportation Risk Specialist (TRS) and licensed property and casualty producer.

Alex Carges

Alex Carges joins as co-founder and Head of Insurance at Nirvana, where he has spent over 4 years working to transform the commercial insurance space through the power of data-driven solutions. As an actuary and 20 year insurance veteran across a diverse set of programs, Alex also holds a series of patents in the insurance + telematics space.

Scott Cornell

Scott Cornell, National Practice Lead, Transportation and Crime & Theft Specialist, has been with Travelers for 23 years and currently leads the Cargo/Transportation division. Prior to his current role, he conducted investigations for 29 years, specializing in cargo theft and transportation, internal theft, embezzlement, and corporate investigations. Scott currently serves as the Chairman of the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA).

Danny Crasto

Danny Crasto is a Claims Director with Primacy Risk Services, specializing in trucking and risk management. Danny has extensive experience in leadership roles within the industry with over 25 years of claims experience. Danny offers expertise in managing physical damage, injury, and litigation claims. Danny also contributes to Primacy’s talent acquisition, employee training, client onboarding, sales and marketing, and process efficiency. 

David Ferris

For more than 30 years, David Ferris has represented commercial clients with respect to transportation, supply chain management, and warehousing. He represents manufacturers, warehouse operators, carriers, third-party logistics providers, and trade organizations in various matters including supply chain management and fulfillment services, edge solutions and licensing, cargo claims (Carmack, Hague Rules, and COGSA), independent contractor classification and litigation, and regulatory matters of all types at all levels, including before the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

Luis Flores

Luis ‘Rick’ Flores, Illinois Department of Transportation Acting Commercial Vehicle Safety Section Manager, has been employed with the State of Illinois for over 30 years, 17 of which have been with IDOT. He currently manages the entire section under the Bureau of Investigations and Compliance, which includes MCSAP and Vehicle Inspection Unit. 

Lisa Gaspero

Lisa Gaspero is a member of the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
She is also a member of the United States Tax Court and the United States Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and is a member of the Roll of Attorneys for the United States Supreme Court. She and her partner, Carmen Gaspero, have handled appeals on behalf of clients before the United States Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and have also filed Writs of Certiorari with the United States Supreme Court.

Taylor Gosiaco

Following an introduction to transportation as both a freight broker and dispatcher, Taylor Gosiaco has spent the last 15 years in the insurance industry working across claims and underwriting roles for the wheels space. This includes the last four he has spent at Nirvana Insurance to help build and lead the underwriting function, where he currently serves as Director of UW Strategy.

George Hristov

With over 18 years of experience in the trucking industry, George Hristov is a seasoned director of operations and partner who delivers innovative and efficient transport and insurance solutions for clients across various sectors. Currently, he leads the operations team at Freightstar Expedited, a company that specializes in transport and logistics for frozen food services and pharmaceuticals. He oversees the planning, execution, and monitoring of all shipments, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, customer satisfaction, and profitability. George also works as a partner at Colonial Insurance Services, where he helps trucking companies with their insurance needs and future growth plans.

Ivan Momchilov

Over the past 10 years, Ivan has garnered comprehensive expertise in strategic sales, capacity management, optimization, strategic sourcing, pricing and yield management, as well as specialized project management. He has played an integral role in numerous start-up ventures within domestic and international 3PL and asset-based logistics providers, where he has successfully devised, led, and implemented high-impact strategic initiatives.

David L. Miller

David L. Miller leads Rock Fusco & Connelly LLC’s Labor Relations and Employment Law practice group representing both private and public employers. Mr. Miller has over 30 years of experience representing and advising clients on a broad range of labor and employee benefit issues. Mr. Miller serves as labor counsel to private and public employers in various industries including construction, manufacturing, and services. He has addressed issues such as fiduciary duties, plan funding, collective bargaining benefits, defense of withdrawal liability disputes and ERISA litigation. He provides clients creative, cost-effective solutions in all these areas.

Dan Murray

Daniel Murray has more than 30 years of experience in a broad range of transportation fields including trucking research and economics, transportation safety technologies and autonomous vehicles. As Senior Vice President for the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI), Mr. Murray is responsible for managing ATRI’s transportation research, testing and evaluation activities, and leads multiple national activities including the U.S. DOT-sponsored Freight Mobility Initiative. He is actively involved in the National Academies’ Transportation Research Board as Vice Chair of the Trucking Research Committee, and presently sits on the Boards of the Freight Mobility Research Institute, US DOT Truck Parking Coalition and the Minnesota Freight Advisory Committee. 

Bruce Pedigo

Bruce is the President of the Professional Towing & Recovery Operators of Illinois (PTROI) and is a Traffic Incident Management (TIM) instructor in the State of Illinois.  He has worked with the PTROI Legislative Committee to help improve towing laws in Illinois. 

Nyron Shaw

As the Director of Compliance at Capstone Logistics, Nyron is responsible for the company’s compliance and claims initiatives, ensuring that all operations align with industry regulations and standards while maintaining the highest level of integrity. With over 10 years of experience in carrier sales and compliance, he’s developed an extensive background in risk management, compliance, claims, and policy implementation.

Nataly Stoyanova is the CEO and Founder of Cellex Consulting Group, which specializes in Truck Industry Safety. As the founder and president of CellEx Consulting Group and its subsidiaries—CellEx Drug and Alcohol, CellEx Licensing and Insurance, and CellEx 911 Road Service—she has led her enterprises to become paragons of industry excellence. Stoyanova also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Safety Lane Magazine, further solidifying her influence on transportation safety protocols and practices.
